The Brighton annual Veterans Day was held this year on 27 June behind the Brighton Pavilion with all branches of our forces and the civilian emergency services represented. The morning’s entertainment was supplied by the Salvation Army Band and the afternoon saw the events stage taken over by the Brighton Drum Band. Our volunteers were busy all day on our stall answering questions and “selling” the Museum to the folks of Brighton. Brighton, of course has a close connection with Tangmere’s No 1 Squadron, the squadron being adopted by the Borough of Brighton in 1937.
However, it was not all work for our volunteers as can be seen from the photograph showing Ian Mackinnon, who organised our presence, with two ladies from Brighton City Council! A useful day and thanks to our volunteers who attended.
