‘Tangmere’s SOE Pick-up Pilots’ is the title of the latest booklet from the Museum’s Education Department. Tangmere airfield was an important base for the clandestine ‘black Lysander’ operations that took secret agents into occupied Europe during WW2. This book, the 11th in the series, tells the story of some of the extraordinary men who flew these operations. Priced at just £2 it is excellent value and makes a fascinating read. The other titles in the series are:
- Americans at Tangmere
- Tangmere Fights Back 1941-1943
- D-Day at Tangmere and its Surrounding Airfields
- Tangmere and the World Air Speed Record
- Tangmere and the Battle of Britain
