November brings the last month of opening for 2010 with our daily closing time adjusted to 4.30 pm. As is the normal practice, the Museum will be closed from 1st December through to 31st January 2011 inclusive in order to facilitate redecoration and refurbishment. The new season will commence on 1st February 2011.
Several new exhibits have been introduced during the past year with others under development. The Ferret project is all but complete, the training of instructors for our new Lightning simulator is well on track and a new Spitfire–type simulator is expected to be ready for use early next year. Notwithstanding the country’s economic difficulties during 2010, our visitor numbers have held up extremely well and, indeed, are expected to exceed those of 2009 by some margin.
Since our regular website features will, as usual, be suspended during the Museum’s close down period, this will be the final “Tangmere News” for 2010. Albeit rather early, we therefore wish all our readers a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
