On 26 June, General Vratislav Beran and Colonel Jiří Niedoba of the Czech Embassy in London, accompanied by Vee Darlington, daughter of Flt Lt Karel Kuttelwascher, Roger Darlington, author of Nighhawk, the definitive biography of Karel Kuttelwascher and Paul Kopeček son of F/O Vladimír Kopeček who had served at RAF Tangmere whilst a pilot with 312 Sqn, made a private visit to the Museum.
Hosted by the Museum’s Curator Charles Hutcheon, they were shown around the displays and an exhibition telling the story of the Czechoslovak and Polish squadrons and airmen stationed at Tangmere during the Second World War.
