The Curator’s Department, which has been making improvements to the management of our collection of RAF uniforms and flying kit, has been awarded a Conservation Improvement Grant of £2,423 from the Museums Development Service. This will allow the purchase of Tyvek covers so that all woollen tunics and greatcoats can be individually protected against dust, light, and insect damage and a chest freezer capable of continuous operation at -30ºC for effective pest treatment.
The Tangmere Museum has 3 computer-controlled Flight Simulators for visitors to ‘fly’.
