2006 was a record year for visitor numbers at the Museum with a total of almost 27000 people through the doors by the close of our year. On October 28th this year we recorded our 30,000th visitor in the year with over a month still to run! Our picture shows the Chennell family of Billingshurst, one of whom was that 30,000th visitor, posing with Museum Volunteers Roy Daines and Nick Berryman. Roy and Nick were both fighter pilots during WW2 and their collective logbooks list Spitfires, Hurricanes, Mustangs, Gladiators, Defiants, Typhoons, Walruses and others.
The Chennells will receive free family membership to the Museum in 2008 entitling them to unlimited visits during the year. They were also presented with a special limited edition print of a Spitfire personally signed by both Nick and Roy.
