The Museum’s Uniform Conservation Project reported last September has now been completed. Funded by a £2,400 Improvement Grant, this project involved freezing the uniforms at -30ºC for 3 or 4 days to kill any moth eggs or larvae present, and then re-hanging the items individually in museum-quality Tyvek covers to protect them from re-infestation. Each uniform has been labelled and photographed.
The Tangmere Museum has 3 computer-controlled Flight Simulators for visitors to ‘fly’.
From 19 July 2021 until further notice, face coverings must be worn when using the flight simulators.
