Taste of Tangmere
The Museum’s annual Open Day, this year entitled Taste of Tangmere, will be on Sunday March 14th. For this day only entry will be charged at £1 per head, with under 5s admitted free. Please note that children under sixteen must be accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 10am and close at 5.30pm. Car parking, which will be on the airfield, is free.
This special day is held to provide an opportunity for people to come along and get a taste of the many delights that are on display here. Among the new features for 2010 are:
- A new Bomber Command exhibit
- New touch-screen displays
- A refurbished ‘Nicholson’ exhibit
- A revised RAF Tangmere exhibit
- More display boards
Museum President Duncan Simpson, famous as a past Hawker Chief Test Pilot, will also be in attendance.
The Museum’s new cafeteria, THE NAAFI, will be offering full café facilities and provides both indoor and outdoor seating. The Museum also has Disabled facilities.
The 2009 Open Day attracted over 800 people on the day, and like last year everyone will be welcome at this year’s event.
