The Museum’s annual Open Day will be held on Sunday March 15th 2009. In a break from our normal policy it has been decided to take the opportunity to support Help for Heroes, the charity that supports our service men and women injured in the current conflicts. Therefore on this day the Museum will be charging £1 per person entry to all visitors and all the money raised will go to ‘Phil’s Million’ which is a campaign run by Major Phil Packer. Phil was seriously injured in Basra losing the use of both his legs. Now he is running his own campaign aiming to raise £1 million for Help for Heroes. You can learn more about ‘Phil’s Million’ on www.PhilPacker.com.
We hope that as many of you as possible will take the chance to visit and sample the many changes and updates we have made during 2008 and our winter shutdown period. It is also a great time to come and talk to us about becoming a Volunteer at the Museum. We are always on the lookout for people with relevant skills who are prepared to give a little of their time to help with the many important tasks that go towards running the Museum.
Come along on the day, enjoy the Museum and help us raise money for this important cause. You can learn more about Help for Heroes by logging on to www.helpforheroes.org.uk.
