Notes from the curator’s desk
The past few years have seen major development in the museum’s audio/visual and static displays. This has been against a background of developing expertise in all areas. In the 2007 we are working to enlarge and enhance our display relating to the roll of The WAAF’s. We will also be restructuring and enlarging the fascinating story of S.O.E. operations. Recently we completed a significant and totally new exhibit as a tribute to the service of the Royal Observer Corps. And a very important addition to the Museum will be our new Education Centre/Meeting Hall which is nearing completion and will be officially opened early in 2007.
We are in our Silver Jubilee year and in June we are planning a major activity weekend to celebrate this – more details later. Though this will be our centrepiece event of the year there will be other Special Events during the year and the first of these will be a Volunteers Day on March 11th at which members of the public can come along and meet some of our Volunteers, discuss the various jobs they do and see if they would like to come and join us. Our Volunteers are dedicated to what the museum stands for, and we work as a team to ensure that all this important social history is kept alive for today’s and future generations. If you think you could help please either contact us now at email@example.com or come along on the day.
Details of our other Special Events will be announced on the website.
As we come to the end of another year, several changes have been made to our management organisation to take us in to 2017.
