The Museum is developing a new and very realistic EE Lightning simulator in which the ‘pilot’ sits in a detailed Lightning cockpit and flies the sim using a real Lightning control column and throttles. It’s an exciting project and it is hoped to be able to demonstrate this new feature to visitors on Taste of Tangmere day. Looking further to the future it is planned to hold events where pre-booked visitors can enjoy a visit to the Museum’s Lightning cockpit, a talk by an ex-Lightning pilot and fly the new simulator under expert tuition. Dates for these events will be announced shortly.
