On Sunday, 13th June, two Museum volunteers joined other participants at Douglas Bader Foundation’s “Bader Braves Day” at Goodwood aerodrome, an event put on to entertain disabled children – amputees or children born without limbs – and their families.
A PC flight simulator set up for the children to “fly” a Chipmunk from Tangmere to Goodwood proved extremely popular throughout the day – particularly so given the flying clothing, helmets, etc provided for dressing up. All were given a balsawood glider and Museum brochure to take home with them.
