This month we are introducing a new regular item on the website, Artefact of the Month, to complement our very popular Aircraft of the Month piece. Each month ‘Artefact’ will highlight one of the many fascinating items that the Museum has on display alongside our unique collection of aircraft. The first of these is Wacker, a knitted mascot that flew more operations than many RAF airmen did in WW2, and on one occasion protected its owner from a shrapnel wound by taking the hit itself. Check it out by selecting Artefact of the Month from the Home page.
The Tangmere Museum has 3 computer-controlled Flight Simulators for visitors to ‘fly’.
From 19 July 2021 until further notice, face coverings must be worn when using the flight simulators.
