The Memorial Garden was formally opened by the Museum's patron, The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, on 17th September 1994. A total of some 170 people are remembered through individual plaques, many of which are accompanied by a rose bush, garden seat or other feature. Museum volunteers are represented together with Service personnel and others associated with RAF Tangmere. "They shall grow not old."
